The farmers of Santiago City, Isabela were unhappy after they discovered that they have no rice to yield this year. It is all because of the tungro virus that cripple the growth of their crops. The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) brought freezing temperature recently which causes the virus spreading rapidly.

Agriculturist concluded that due to the extreme cold, grains of rice destroyed to over 37 villages reportedly affected by pests.
Moreover, the fungus destroying the leaves and stems so rice can't produce grains
It affected more than 2,000 farmers, loss of million pesos and further leading them into debt.
City Agriculture Office declared a state of calamity in the to provide seed assistance to farmers.
