Philippine Government Should Have National Emergency Preparedness Plan Against China Invasion

Iloilo Rep. Jerry Treñas urges the government to settle a national emergency preparedness plan as soon as possible. In case China assault the Philippines because of the conflict in the West Philippine Sea.

Congressman emphasized that if China do the same thing of what Russia did forcily entering the Crimean Peninsula in Ukraine. The Philippines territory will be in great danger.

According to Treñas, the plan should include measures and response or any preparation in case of invasion or attack worst lead to war.

It's Better to Be Ready than Sorry

First step is the development of community-based "disaster response" units of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) that mobilize emergency reponse including the possibility of mass evacuation.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Command should have the inventory and reserve manpower that can easily spread when needed.

Also, the AFP and NDRRMC should conduct drills and simulation exercises to be able to upgrade the level of preparedness for the country. Especially, when there situations such as war between two nations.
