Due to closing schedule of Malampaya gas field again in Palawan, there is imminent price increase in electricity bills the next year.

Operators of natural gas platform in Palawan published notice related to another one month closure of the facility allowing them to install new components. The previous maintenance happened November last year. The Malampaya is one of the primary sources of fuel with affordable. Which use to supply power plants, produce electricity, and distributed in different local cooperatives, also this include Manila Electric Company (Meralco).

What To Do?

In this regard, the Department of Energy (DOE) requested electric power distributors to prepare for it. They should have their back-up suppliers with them ensuring that electric power supply is adequate when this happen.
